What do you need to enter Ecuador by air?

If you are a foreign citizen you must have:

Valid and current passport (valid for 6 months)
Identity card or DNI of citizens of South America. » would be: «Identity card or DNI for citizens of South America

If you are a citizen of the Andean Community you can enter with:

National Identity Card or National Identity Document

If you are an Ecuadorian citizen you must present:

Passport
Identity card
emergency passport
Safe passage

Ecuadorian and foreign children and adolescents can enter under the following conditions:

Accompanied by their parents or one of them, legal guardians or whoever exercises parental authority
Alone or with third parties
If you enter alone, you must have authorization from the person or persons who exercise parental authority, from the competent authority in your respective country or under the regulations in force in your country of origin.

What do you need to enter Ecuador by land?

Remember that every foreign citizen who visits Ecuador, entering through the land borders of Colombia and Peru, must present their certificate of not having a criminal record issued in their country of origin or residence in the last five years. This documentation must be apostilled.

If you are a tourist, and you do not have a certificate of not having a criminal record, you must request an exceptional entry authorization for foreign citizens traveling as tourists 48 hours before entering the country, sending the following information to the help email. tourists@turismo.gob.ec:

Date of entry into the country
Date of departure from the country
Passport copy
Information on the border point through which the tourist group enters
Detail or itinerary of the activities that will be carried out in the country
Copy of reservations in tourist establishments legally registered with the national tourism authority.
