Being one of the most requested drinks in the indigenous communities of South America, you should avoid consuming it on your own without the supervision of a shaman.
This is a service that is not on the Green Forest Ecolodge itinerary, however, you can do it outside of the agency's activities.
This substance must be administered with a deep understanding and it is not suitable for everyone. It can cause severe (even irreversible) psychotic symptoms in people with a history of mental problems, such as schizophrenia or bipolarity, and is incompatible with taking medications such as antidepressants. There are even those who have died, it seems, because of these bad practices, since it has not been determined that ayahuasca has dangerous levels of toxicity for the human body.
